Quick and easy maintenance of the grease trap

The grease trap must be maintained regularly to ensure its proper operation. This involves emptying the grease trap of solid waste and grease accumulated during its daily use. In the longer term, a cleaning of the complete grease trap is necessary to eliminate the fine waste deposited on the bottom.

The frequency of cleaning the grease trap will be determined by your use of it. A professional discharging large quantities of greasy waste will have to empty the grease trap more frequently to avoid clogging the lamellar system and overflowing the device.

The lamellar system increases the efficiency of our BAGT®xxn grease trays by a factor of 3 to 5 compared to a standard EN1825 grease tray. For example, our BAGT®200N model, (useful volume: 50 litres) tested according to EN1825, size 1, has an efficiency equivalent to that of a 380 litres underground useful tank.
How to clean your grease trap?

Here is the procedure for cleaning your grease trap:

Dispose of solid waste every day:

    Remove the waste basket,
throw solid waste in the garbage and rinse the basket,
replace the basket and then the cover in place
Close the frogs to ensure that the grease trap is tightly sealed.

Collect fat twice a week:

For the low-capacity models BAGT 25 and BAGT 40, without grease drain valve: open the tank cover and collect the grease with a ladle or directly with the basket if it is frozen.
For larger capacity models BAGT®COMPACT, BAGT®80N, BAGT®200N and BAGT®400N, with grease drain valve: Close the water outlet valve to raise the level and then open the grease outlet valve and let the grease flow into a container. Close the valve as soon as water starts to come out. Open the water outlet again. This operation should preferably be done after diving, when the water is hot and the greases still fluid. Complete cleaning of the grease trap is recommended every 3 months if the drain valve of the grease trap is not connected to the network, otherwise once a year is sufficient. No need to pump the grease trap for this operation, just empty the grease trap of its components (basket, lamellar system and scyphoid sheet) to access the bottom. Then, let the water flow from the inlet or make-up valve and open the drain valve.
Wastewater and sanitation with the grease trap

To ensure proper sanitation with the grease trap installed in your kitchen, it is therefore important to drain and clean the grease trap as often as necessary. The recovered fats can be recycled in the HAU (Used Food Oils) sector, they must be stored in a drum until they are collected by a specialised company. 304 stainless steel food quality good quality, the BAGT requires very little maintenance.
Good maintenance of the grease trap for optimal performance

Maintenance of the grease trap is essential to ensure its proper operation. Our grease traps are entirely made of 304L food grade stainless steel, which guarantees their very high quality and durability. Indeed, regular cleaning integrated into the daily cleaning procedure allows for optimal maintenance in less than 5 minutes.
